SPHERE at Cheltenham Science Festival

14th May 2015
We very pleased to have been invited to Cheltenham Science Festival. Professor Ian Craddock, Director of the SPHERE project, has been asked to talk alongside Professor Madeleine Murtagh, University of Bristol, on 'THE FUTURE OF HEALTH: ETHICS AND PRIVACY'

Internet of Things technologies — fitness wristbands and smart watches — are moving health from the hospital to the home. But if your watch, thermostat and games console could manage your well-being, how would you feel about being constantly monitored? Engineer Ian Craddock and social scientist Madeleine Murtagh delve into the technology and the ethics, and ask if this is a future of health we can live with.

The talk will take place on Wednesday 3rd June 8pm-9pm. It's a great opportunity to get a first-hand description of SPHERE and some of the fascinating questions arising from a project of this size and scale.
